Bio- Hunter Carter

Hunter grew up in a small town on a chicken farm in New London, NC. Ironically, Marguerite (his wife) is from the other New London––in Connecticut. Much of their marriage has been discovering and traversing the cultural differences which exist between Yankees and Rednecks. They met at Wingate University in NC and were both involved with Campus Outreach, a college ministry.

After graduating, Hunter went on staff with Campus Outreach and served for three years as a Campus Director at Wingate University. In 2018 he was hired by Church of the Redeemer, a PCA church in Indian Trail, NC. He earned his MA in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte and was ordained as a minister in the PCA in 2022.

Also in 2022, Hunter and Marguerite welcomed their daughter, Eloise Gail Carter, into the world. She is, by popular consensus, the happiest baby of all time. (At least among those we have polled.) Sometime in September 2023 the family will continue growing with the addition of baby #2 (name pending).

Hunter joined the New Valley team in 2023 and serves as the Assistant Pastor of Adult Ministries. He is on the preaching team and helps to oversee Men’s Ministry, Guest Services, and Discipleship. In addition to his role at New Valley, Hunter is currently working on a ThM (Master of Theology) in Textual Criticism at Phoenix Seminary. And yes, it is as nerdy as it sounds! Hunter likes old books, deep conversations, and beating Scott and Carson in ping pong.DSC_6646-2.JPG
