A Simple Way to Help Renew the City
The National Coalition for the Homeless estimates that there are more than 6,500 homeless people in Phoenix. Meals in Wheels is a simple, yet powerful, way to help meet the need of EVERY homeless person in the city. We may not be able to end homelessness this summer in Phoenix, but we can at least elminate people dying from the heat.

How It Works
The program is simple: pack a bag of nonperishable items to randomly hand to someone who is standing on the side of the road in need. Whether you're on your way to work or just running errands, you are ready to show grace to someone.

At New Valley, the effort is more organized. Folks bring various items into church, volunteers collect and bag the items, and then the bags are handed out after church for folks to put in their cars. And unlike Meals ON Wheels where one van delivers from a central location, Meals IN Wheels is more grassroots. It allows each individual to own (and thereby feel the blessing of) helping someone by handing out the bags from their own cars. It's like an army of people ready to bless the city!
